About Aqua Culture

We’re redefining what it means to care for your plants with handpicked, hand-pressed seaweed fertiliser that nourishes and strengthens their resistance. We’re on a mission to bring this nutritional powerhouse to every plant enthusiast’s home throughout the UK. Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just starting your plant family, our range of seaweed fertilisers caters to plant lovers of all kinds.

Sourcing the Best, Natural Seaweed

Our seaweed is handpicked from the beautiful beaches of Cornwall in South West England. The seaweed we pick is classed as waste seaweed and gets pushed up from the coast onto the beaches. Usually, this seaweed will remain in pockets on the beach where it will either rot and attract flies or be moved and not utilised effectively. For us at Aqua Culture, we wanted to do more, so we closely collaborate with local councils to collect the waste seaweed that doesn’t otherwise get pulled back into the ocean sustainably. This enables us to effectively use otherwise waste material without impacting local wildlife or habitats. We then hand-press it into 100% natural seaweed fertiliser.

A Personal Approach for Your Plants

While your plants might not care about the process or packaging, we believe quality, sustainability and personality should be at every step of the process. Our small three-person team of passionate plant enthusiasts handle everything by hand, from:

Harvest

We only use waste mixed seaweed, collected by hand working alongside local councils. Lots of waste seaweed gets washed up reguarly on the cornish shoreline in which is left to rot. So we utilise this and put it back into our plant friends.

Process

We thoroughly clean the seaweed of salt and nasties to prep for the pressing, then we hand press our seaweed to extract the finest quality 100% natural serum.

Hand Packed

We make sure every drop is used and no waste is spared. We are a small business, we want to make sure the seaweed is respected, carefully packed and delivered to our fellow plant lovers

Fertilise

We test our fertiliser on plants of all kinds to find incredible results. We are a small business, we want to make sure the seaweed is respected, carefully packed and delivered to our fellow plant lovers

Ensuring the Quality Of Our Fertiliser

We also test our seaweed within UK laboratories, using the best equipment available to ensure the best product possible for your plants. This includes checking the nutritional value of our fertiliser and analysing the impact it has on plants under strict variables.

Similarly, we also test our products physically, ensuring each application applies the same nutritional and practical benefits to your plants, regardless of where it is used; this can include agriculturally, on allotments, fruits and veg, cut flowers, trees, and much more. This helps us further quality assure our fertiliser outside of a laboratory environment.

Your plants deserve the best, and you do too.

If you’re interested in meeting the team or learning more about our product directly, look for independent craft markets throughout Newquay and Falmouth, as we regularly host a stand
